About Pomp

Pomp is a free cricket drafting game. Spin for real teams and eras from across cricket history, draft one player at a time into your XI, and try and go unbeaten.

How it works

Pick your mode and formation - choose Classic or Expert, In Their Pomp or As They Were, and the shape of your XI.
Spin to draw a random team and era.
Draft one player from that squad into an open slot in your XI.
Repeat for 11 spins until every position is filled.
Name your captain and spin for a manager to unlock boosts.
See your results - from early exits to an invincible run.

Game modes

International Treble - spin for cricket's greatest international sides from the 1970s to the 2020s. Draft one XI and try to win the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and World Test Championship in a single run.
Indian Invincibles - spin for Indian T20 franchises across every season. Build your XI from the best players the game has ever seen and try to go unbeaten.
Time Machine - pick a golden era of cricket and draft a side entirely from the teams of that time. Compete in that era's ODI World Cup.
Women's Global T20 2026 - spin for international women's sides and try to win it.

Formations

Balanced - 3 pacers, 1 spinner, 1 all-rounder, 1 keeper. The standard XI that works across all formats.
Spin twins - 2 pacers, 2 spinners, 1 all-rounder, 1 keeper. Deadly on turning tracks, riskier on green pitches.
Batting line-up - 2 pacers, 1 spinner, 1 all-rounder, 1 keeper, with an extra batter. More firepower up top, fewer bowling options.

Players can only fill positions they genuinely play - so every XI you build is realistic.

Draft settings

Classic - full ratings and stats are shown on every card. Draft the strongest side you can.
Expert - ratings and stats are hidden. You see only names and positions, and draft on pure cricket knowledge. Everything reveals at the end.
In Their Pomp - every player is rated at their absolute career peak, regardless of the era drawn.
As They Were - players are rated as they actually performed in the specific season drawn. A harder, more realistic challenge.

Which teams and eras can I spin?

It depends on the mode. International Treble covers real international sides from the 1970s to the 2020s. Indian Invincibles covers Indian T20 franchises across multiple seasons. Time Machine and Women's T20 have their own pools.

Can I beat the challenge?

Yes, but it takes the right combination of players across every position. Most teams fall short somewhere - the draft, the captain choice, or the draw of the spin.

How is my result worked out?

Your result is based on the overall ratings of your XI, weighted by how well each player fits their position, and boosted by your captain and manager choices.
