This policy explains how Pomp (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use pompcricket.com. Pomp is an unofficial cricket fan game. You can play everything without an account; an optional account lets you save a streak and appear on the leaderboard.

Information we collect

If you play without an account — none.There are no forms asking for personal details. Your choices while playing (your mode, drafted XI, daily results) stay in your browser. For the daily game's leaderboard, your device generates a random anonymous id stored in your browser; it holds no personal information and just lets your streak appear on the board under a generated alias.

If you create an account. We store your email address (used only to sign you in — there are no passwords), and the optional profile details you choose: a leaderboard name (handle), nationality and favourite team. We also keep your game stats, such as your daily streak and scores, so we can show your progress and rank. If you sign in with Google, Google provides basic profile information (such as your name) which we store but do not display.

Information collected automatically. As with virtually every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs — such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages requested — to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.

What's public

If you appear on a leaderboard, other people can see your leaderboard name (or, if you haven't set one, a generated alias), your nationality flag, favourite team and streak. Your email address is never shown publicly. Choose a leaderboard name you're comfortable being seen.

Cookies and local storage

We don't set advertising or tracking cookies. Pomp keeps a few small items on your device: a sound on/off preference, your daily-game progress and anonymous id, and — only when you sign in — an essential session cookie that keeps you logged in. Our analytics (below) are cookieless.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, and PostHog (product analytics, hosted in the EU), to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and how fast it loads. These are all cookielessand privacy-friendly: they don't use tracking cookies, don't build a profile of you, and don't identify you personally.

Advertising

Pomp doesn't show ads today. We may add them later. Before we enable any advertising, we'll update this policy and, where the law requires it (for example in the UK and EU), ask for your consent first.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your information. We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and logs), Supabase (account sign-in and your profile database, hosted in the EU), Upstash (the leaderboard store), and PostHog (cookieless analytics, hosted in the EU). If you sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep account information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile, or by emailing us — this removes your profile and leaderboard entries. If you played anonymously, clearing your browser storage removes the local id and progress on that device.

Children

Pomp is a general-audience game and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile details at any time, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access a copy of your data or object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the game grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
